About

our mission

Our team is committed to positively impact as many people in our community as possible and help individuals create healthy, happy lifestyles. Every day we motivate our fit family to strive toward their goals and be the best version of themselves. Health and fitness is a journey, not a destination. It takes dedication, hard work, and mental toughness, but we are here every step of the way to encourage members and challengers to build healthy habits that are maintainable and allow them to enjoy and conquer their day!

our history

Since retiring from the NFL, it has been Gary Hogeboom’s dream to open a gym that can make a positive impact on his community. When his daughter Kasi moved back home to Michigan and became a personal/group trainer, they decided to team up with Jake, Gary's son and Kasi's brother, to open a gym of their own, Boomers Bootcamp.

"We chose Traverse City as it was our family’s home for the previous five years; we wanted to give back to the community that we love so much. One year later, we opened another facility in Fenton, where I now reside with my husband. Both communities have embraced our values and we’re happy to be a part of them. Boomers Bootcamp focuses on the wellbeing of our many members, who continue to inspire us every day. Boomers is much more than just a bootcamp. It’s a lifestyle."

Before Boomers

I’ve always lived a very active lifestyle, whether it was spending time outdoors with family and friends or playing organized sports. Although I dreamed of being a collegiate basketball player, when the opportunity arose, I decided to move to LA when I was 17 years old to pursue my acting and modeling career. I didn't realize it then, but during this time I learned some of the most important lessons that would help me with my career today. I became the strong, independent woman I am today because I struggled, I succeeded, I failed, I conquered. I traveled for quite a few years before deciding home is where my family is. I made the move back to MI and began working as a trainer for Fit Body Boot Camp in 2014.

Why Boomers?
What I have found most fulfilling through all of my moves and travels is helping others in life, fitness, and nutrition. Opening Boomers has given us the opportunity to impact as many lives in our community as possible. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our clients form healthy habits, get stronger, and create a lifestyle that can be sustained!

Outside of Boomers
I enjoy spending every day with my Fit Fam, but on my own time I enjoy continuing my travels with my husband, I love family and friend time, and have a true love for adventure and the outdoors.

Guilty Pleasures
Laying under the stars, everything Matcha, and snowboarding! I also really love all animals, insects, and bugs.

Why Boomers?
Faith. Family. Fitness. Sports and fitness have inspired me my entire life. I love working out to become the best person I can be, while staying dedicated, and having the discipline to make it happen. God gave me one body and one mind, so I work hard to be healthy and strong, physically as well as mentally. I have always wanted to be a gym owner and inspire others to do the same while helping them become their healthiest possible. It’s awesome to see and help others achieve their fitness goals!

Outside of Boomers
I love spending time with family, being active outdoors, and helping others.

Guilty Pleasures
I love all food so I really have to be careful of what I eat because I like to eat. A lot.

Before Boomers

I played point guard for Michigan State University from 2003-2004 before transferring to Hope College. I knew I wanted to pursue a career in Real Estate, so hit the ground running and in 2013 opened @HomeRealty. Our focus has always been to practice reckless optimism, build meaningful relationships, and give back to the community we work, play, and live in.

Director of Public & Client Relations

Before Boomers

Since I was a little girl, I have been surrounded by sports and encouraged to live a very active lifestyle. I grew a love for volleyball and was able to play 4 years at Northern Michigan University while earning my degree in Public Relations and Marketing. It was there that I realized how important nutrition and staying fit was and knew I needed to combine that with my passion for life and helping others.

Why Boomers?
My family has always embraced having a positive mindset, making those around you better, and striving to be the best you. Our team and fit family at Boomers motivates, inspires, and pushes me to do those things every single day. Seeing people walk through our doors driven to leave stronger, fist pumping and high high fiving when they accomplish their goals, and building lasting relationships makes my heart smile.

Outside of Boomers
I love hiking, chasing waterfalls, drawing, writing, riding horses, and working out!

Guilty Pleasures
Excessive amounts of tea, mochas, sunshine, and Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked ice cream. Puppies and kitties too (actually all baby animals).
